InfoTool is developed as part of Co-Site, a transdisciplinary research project at Technische Hochschule Köln. This section shares the scientific work, methods, and specifications behind the platform — the research foundation that InfoTool’s tools and datasets are built on.
Scientific Work
Research outputs, methodology notes, and findings from the Co-Site project’s work on climate adaptation, environmental monitoring, and co-creative planning with municipalities.
A defining feature of Co-Site’s approach is co-creation: rather than developing tools in isolation, researchers work directly alongside municipal planners, climate managers, and other stakeholders throughout the process. This means the platform’s features and datasets are shaped by the practical needs of the people who will actually use them for adaptation planning.
Specifications
Technical specifications for the sensors, data standards, and interoperability approaches (such as OGC SensorThings API) that InfoTool relies on to bring different data sources together consistently.
